In response to recent storms, temporary measures are in place to assist Kansas City residents with debris disposal and neighborhood cleanup:

  • The Missouri Organics drop-off site at N Main Street & NW Cookingham Drive will be open daily and available free of charge for the next two weeks for Kansas City residents.
  • The former drop-off site at 1815 N. Chouteau Trafficway will temporarily reopen from 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

At this time, the city will not be offering curbside debris pick-up services. Residents are encouraged to utilize the designated drop-off sites to help ensure a faster and more efficient cleanup process.

How to Apply for the Dumpster Program

You can request forms starting March 2, 2026. All registered Neighborhood Associations, Homeowner Associations, and block clubs are eligible to participate in the dumpster program.  Please email Todd Garrett for more information.

  • Visit the Website and Request a Dumpster: The dumpster rental portal has the resources residents need to rent a dumpster. Just enter your address and click the "request a dumpster" button. There is a $60 fee per dumpster. You must pay the fee by check or money order made out to "KCMO City Treasurer."

Neighborhood Cleanup Assistance Programs

Neighborhoods and civic groups who create their own neighborhood clean-up events are encouraged to seek resources from the City, including discounted dumpster rental, waste tire drop-off and “blue bags” for litter collection.
