Kansas City is planning safety improvements on Prospect Avenue, and we want to hear from you! What design upgrades do you want to see along the corridor? Attend a Community Open House on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Rock of Ages Baptist Church (3806 Prospect Avenue) from 4:30 pm. - 6 p.m.

Kansas City’s fatal crash rate is 16.9 per 100,000 residents. The fatal crash rate along Prospect Avenue is nearly double Kansas City’s fatal crash rate.  

The Prospect Avenue Safety Improvements project team will study and design roadway and intersection improvements to enhance safety, traffic operations, and mobility from Linwood Boulevard to Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard.

This project coordinates with the City’s broader ProspectUS Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Strategic Plan adopted in February 2025. ProspectUS’s vision for Prospect Avenue is a safe, walkable, and transit-oriented corridor that benefits existing residents.

No formal presentation will be given at the Community Open House. Come and go as you please and provide feedback on design ideas, talk with members of the project team, and get your questions answered. The event is accessible via RideKC Bus. If driving, parking is available at the venue off Prospect Avenue.
