This project will install Complete Streets improvements--improved pedestrian crossings and a two-way cycletrack-- on Gillham Road from 39th Street to Brush Creek Boulevard. The goals of this project align with KCMO's Complete Street ordinance to make our streets safer and more accessible for all users: bicyclists, pedestrians, transit-users, and vehicles. This project is also progress in completing an important bikeway link connecting Midtown to Downtown.

    Project improvements include:

    • Traffic calming and improved pedestrian crossings on cross streets
    • An on-street, two-way cycle track from 39th St. to Brush Creek Boulevard
    • Newly resurfaced roadway
    • Minimal impact to parking, trees, and existing traffic lanes
    • What is a two-way cycle track?

Read more about a two-way cycle track design in the NACTO Urban Bikeway Design Guide.
