    On January 15, 2026, City Council approved over $340,000 for design work on the Trolley Track Trail. The north portion of this project, between 62nd Terrace and 63rd Street, is expected to start in August 2026.

    The south portion of the projectis still in design phase and seeking construction funding.

    Project Description: 

    The community enhancing project consists of finalizing alignment of the trail, designing potential trail connections, addressing parking impacts, and potential improvements to the adjacent park. The scope of the project will include improvements to the intersection of 63rd St. and Brookside Blvd., and the Trolley Track Trail from 62nd St. to Meyer Blvd.

    Construction Timeline:

    • Construction of the Trolley Track Trail and related concrete improvements expected to be completed by September 24, 2026.
    • Mill and overlay of the north parking lot will start in October 2026 and is expected to be completed by November 1, 2026.
    • Mill and overlay of Brookside Plaza will start in October 2026 and is expected to be completed by November 1, 2026.
    • Mill and overlay on 62nd Terrace will start in October 2026 and isexpected to be completed by November 1, 2026.
    • CID expected to complete Trolley Track Trail improvements by the end of November 2026.

    • The portion of the parking lot highlighted in green will be closed while crews work to improve the Trolley Track Trail between August 3, 2026 - September 18, 2026
    • The portion of the parking lot highlighted in purple will be closed for several days in early October while crews resurface that section
    • The portion of the parking lot highlighted in orange will be closed for several days in mid-October while crews resurface that section
    • The portion of the parking lot highlighted in blue will be closed for several days in early October while crews resurface that section

    Public Engagement:

    Thank you to those who were able to attend the in-person open house public meetings held on October 2, 2024 and August 3, 2023! Your participation is critical to understand the goals and priorities for this project area. For those who were unable to attend, the boards presented at the public meeting and a frequently asked questions (FAQ) handout are available below.

    Following the public meeting, an online survey was open from August 3-18, 2023. The survey received approximately 550 responses and is now closed. Thank you for your feedback.
