Construction Update
Updated 8/09/2024
Construction on Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd, from Oak Street to Troost Avenue, completion expected in December 2024.
Mobility lane construction on the southern side of the street should be done, with the north side of the street completed soon. Pedestrian refuge island and crossing construction will begin soon. Once the concrete work is complete, asphalt will be laid.
Residents on Emanuel Cleaver II, from Oak Street to Troost Avenue, will place trash and recycling carts on top of the mobility lane barrier – or within the buffer zone - after construction is complete to ensure carts are accessible during weekly collection. **Make sure to not place carts on top of the barrier if the concrete was poured within 48 hours.
Project Overview
Connecting the Gillham Rd Cycle Track with the Trolley Track Trail will create a 10.5 mile continuous protected multimodal facility from 12th St and Oak St to 85th St and Holmes Rd. This contiguous multimodal facility will provide a safe and useful connection to dozens of points of interest, jobs, neighborhoods, transit lines, and schools along the way. Additionally, this north-south route will also connect other existing and planned bike lanes and trails.
