    Project Update

Phase 1 of the project is now substantially complete, spanning along E 12th Street from Euclid Avenue to Monroe Avenue. The next phase will span to Hardesty Avenue.

    Project Description

The E 12th St corridor, between Michigan Ave to Hardesty Ave, is part of the High-Injury Network (HIN) and currently identified for street resurfacing with 3,000 to 3,200 vehicles per day including public transportation. The corridor serves residential areas, businesses, Prospect Plaza Park, and Whittier Elementary.

The objective of the E 12th Street Road Diet project is to reduce speeds, improve safety, and increase parking for surrounding residents and businesses.

To achieve the objective, the project will convert the 4 lanes road to 3 lanes along the 2.2 mile corridor.
