The current phase of Lee’s Summit Road construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, which is weather dependent. Crews may have to wait until Spring of 2026 to complete landscaping items.

Lee’s Summit Road is located south of Independence and west of Blue Springs. The project will include major reconstruction to improve the existing roadway layout, removing dangerous curves and focus on realigning and improving Lee's Summit Road between Lakewood Boulevard and Anderson Road. The project will upgrade the existing corridor to continue the implemented streetscape on the north end of the project.

Roadway improvements include:

• Street realignment
• Sidewalks
• Multiuse trail
• Curb and gutter
• Retaining walls
• Personal Mobility Lanes
• Widened roadway

$9.3 million overall, $7.4 million for construction

This project is currently under construction with approved traffic plan permits from the City of Lee's Summit and the City of Kansas City.
