    Project Description

The Corridor James Reed Road, between Bannister to 107th Street, is currently identified for street resurfacing. It has AADTs around 1,000 vehicles per day. Bannister Park and Ervin Elementary School are adjacent (within a block) of this corridor. This corridor serves residential and commercial areas. The corridor is approximately 1.75 miles.

Based on USDOT Equitable Transportation Community Explorer, this corridor falls under disadvantage of relatively high climate and disaster burden, health vulnerability, environmental burden, and social vulnerability. The site is identified as a local link for east-west connectors. Top of FormBottom of Form The Hickman Mills Area Plan supports corridor recommendations for improvement or study for James A. Reed Road. This entails adding a center turn lane, sidewalks on both sides, and a major separated on-street bike facility or off-street shared-use path from 87th Street to I-470.
