N Green Hills Road ImprovementsCategories:
- Design Phase - KCMO Capital Projects (Public Works)
The Green Hills Road is located near Lake Waukomis, southeast of KCI. The project will be completed in two parts; North and South. The North part will stretch from NW 78th Street to NW Barry Road and the South part will span from NW Platte Brooke Drive to NW 78th Street.
Roadway improvements include:
- New pavement with curb and gutter
- Complete Streets: new shared use path and sidewalks
- Intersection, drainage and landscaping improvements
- Improved horizontal and vertical alignment
- Retaining walls
- Turn lane
- Water main installation
These projects are currently in the design phase, there are no impacts to traffic at this time.
South- June 2019: Receive revised PS&E
North- June 2019: continue 90% design
General project timelines:
South- In condemnation process with the courts for right-of-way. Construction starts in winter 2019 and lasts up to one year.
North- Right-of-way acquisition starts in fall 2019. Construction is planning to start in summer/fall 2020 (pending right-of-way acquisition timeline) and will last up to two years.
