Project Description:

North Oak Trafficway runs parallel to MO Route 169.  Roadway reconstruction of North Oak Trafficway spans from the North Kansas City City Limits to North Indianola Drive.

Roadway improvements include:

  • Replacement of existing pavement
  • New curb and gutter
  • New sidewalks on both sides along north portion of project boundaries
  • Shared use facility on south portion connecting to North Kansas City bike facilities
  • Six bus stop sidewalk pad installations
  • New and enlarged water lines
  • New street lights
  • Slope improvements south of Cerner

Project Timeline:        

Current status: Final punch list items are being completed. Ribbon Cutting event took place on November 13, 2019. 

General project timeline:  Construction started fall 2018 and completion is expected in fall 2019.

Public Engagement:

City leaders and project representatives celebrated the completion of roadway improvements on N. Oak Trafficway from the NKC City Limits to N. Indianola Avenue on November 13, 2019.
