Project Description:

Plans include installing a pedestrian plaza at 18th and Paseo that pays homage to the rich history of Kansas City's Jazz District. Prominent features include a statue of jazz legend Cab Calloway, murals, a fountain and seating options. This project is one of the standout improvements for the Paseo Streetscape.

Project Timeline:

This project is in the design phase, with the start date for major construction still pending. The Paseo Streetscape Improvements project is expected to start construction in August 2026, so work on the Archive Plaza portion will start once the median is widened and modified to accommodate for the space needed for the plaza.
