Update 10/1/2025: 

Construction continues, with work on the north side of Stadium Drive at 90% completion. South side construction has started from the Bridge to the Railroad tracks.

Project Overview 

This streetscape project spans along Stadium Drive from Raytown Road to East 31st Street. The streetscape includes the following improvements:

• Lane reconfiguration/road diet: converting lanes to two through lanes and a continuous center turn lane
• New sidewalks
• Addition of a raised shared use path/trail on the south side of Stadium Drive
• Shared through lanes

Construction is happening in phases:

• Phase 1 – North Side E 31^st to Raytown Rd – 90% completed
• Phase 2 – South Side E 31^st to E 34^th Ter & E 35^th Ter to Raytown Rd – Under construction
• Phase 3 – E 34^th Ter to E 35^th Ter (Park)

Traffic Impact

Traffic is reduced to one lane each direction during construction, which will also be the case permanently once the construction is completed.

Timeline

• Construction started in July 2025
• Construction expected to be complete by May 2026
• Landscaping will be completed once construction is completed
