The Capital Projects Division manages key construction projects for the City of Kansas City, Mo. Public Works Department. Capital Projects staff are at the forefront of Kansas City’s construction renaissance, bringing process improvements and standardized practices to the management of street, bridge and building projects throughout the City. Personnel include project managers; construction inspectors; right-of-way, relocation and utility specialists; and finance and administrative professionals.

Project Description:

This project was completed in April of 2019. Wornall Road is just east of Leawood and runs parallel to the Missouri Kansas border. The reconstruction of Wornall Road from 85th Street to 89th Street is part of the infrastructure improvements that the City is investing in the Waldo neighborhood.

Roadway improvements include:

  • Street reconstruction
  • Curb and gutter
  • New Sidewalks
  • Streetlight upgrades
  • New water line
  • New storm sewer
