Project Description:

The Missouri River Corridor is a proposed 40-kilometer (24.8 mile) roadway to be located in the Missouri cities of Kansas City, Sugar Creek, Independence, and parts of unincorporated Jackson County. This project is a new expressway connecting the I-435 and Front Street interchange to Sterling Avenue in Sugar Creek and will include roadway improvements and new bridges over the Blue River.

Roadway improvements include:

  • New Bridges
  • Roadway improvements
  • Easier access between these four cities

Traffic Impact:

This project is currently on hold, there are no impacts to traffic at this time.

Project Timeline:        

Current status:  Plans are complete. Project on hold until further funding allocated.
