    Project Description:

    North Brighton Street is located just east of Gladstone. The first phase of this project involves roadway improvements along North Brighton Street, spanning from NE Pleasant Valley Road to NE 72nd Street.

    Roadway improvements include:

    • Widening the 2-lane roadway to 4-lanes with a divided median island
    • Bike lanes
    • Sidewalks
    • Flattening hills and valleys
    • Addition of new curbs and gutters
    • A new enclosed storm sewer system
    • New street lighting

    Additional N Brighton improvements are planned between NE 72nd Street and NE 78th Street, but funding has not been secured for this phase of the project. These improvements would include the bridge over Shoal Creek.

    Traffic Impact:

    There are no impacts to traffic at this time.

    Project Timeline: 

    General project timeline:  This project is completing the design phase and acquiring right-of-way. Construction is pending funding from the Shoal Creek TIF and GO KC funding.
