Kansas City International Airport (MCI) looks to build on its record-breaking 2024 travel year with the announcement of Delta Air Lines’ new nonstop service to Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), beginning in May 2025. With a record-breaking 12,121,778 passengers flying in and out of MCI, the airport’s busiest year in history, this new daily nonstop route further strengthens the city’s growing air travel network and enhances Kansas City’s connectivity as a hub for both business and tourism. .

“Anytime a new flight route is added, it creates more opportunities—not just for visitors to experience all that Kansas City has to offer, but also for our residents to stay better connected," said Mayor Quinton Lucas. "This new nonstop service to Raleigh-Durham strengthens our city's accessibility and supports business and tourism growth, establishing Kansas City as a world-class destination.”

These new flights continue to build upon the growing air service that Kansas City has achieved, making it even easier for both residents and visitors to access the Raleigh-Durham area, renowned for its research and tech industries. 

MCI its record-setting year in 2024, with the total number of passengers surpassing 12 million for the first time ever. The addition of the Raleigh-Durham route follows other new nonstop flights launched last year, including routes to Sacramento, CA, Hollywood-Burbank, CA, and Columbus, OH. These milestones reflect Kansas City's increasing prominence as a destination and its critical role in connecting the region to the rest of the world. 

Daily Flight Schedule:

• Departing Kansas City at 6:55 p.m. CT and arriving in Raleigh-Durham at 10:19 p.m. ET.
• Returning from Raleigh-Durham, leaving at 7:55 a.m. ET and arriving in Kansas City at 9:41 a.m. CT
