Travel can be stressful—but kindness makes the journey lighter. This September, Kansas City International Airport (MCI) invites travelers to spread positivity through its new “Fly Kind” campaign, a weeklong activation coinciding with the anniversary of September 11.
With the theme “Kindness is in the air,” the campaign turns ordinary travel moments into opportunities for connection and joy. Travelers are encouraged to share why kindness matters when they fly, post videos on social media, and tag the airport to keep the spirit moving.
“Sometimes the smallest gestures can have the biggest impact,” said Melissa Cooper, Director of Aviation for the Kansas City Aviation Department. “Through Fly Kind, we want to remind passengers that a smile, a kind word, or a simple act of courtesy can make the entire travel experience brighter for everyone.”
Campaign Highlights:
• Kindness Selfie Wall – A colorful, photo-ready installation where travelers can snap selfies or record short videos celebrating kindness.
• Branded Luggage Tags – Fun, complimentary tags that serve as daily reminders to “carry kindness” wherever you travel.
• Social Media Engagement – Passengers can join the campaign by posting videos about why kindness matters in the air, tagging the airport to spread the message.
The Fly Kind promotion runs inside the MCI terminal September 4 through 14, with travelers encouraged to join the movement online using the hashtag #FlyKind.
