Kansas City will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, December 12 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM to celebrate the completion of the newly reconstructed N Green Hills Road. This road spans from NW 78th Street to NW Barry Road and features safety, traffic flow, and alignment improvements. The road will be officially re-opened to traffic at the conclusion of this ceremony.
When: Friday, December 12, 2025, from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Where: N Green Hills Road and NW 79th Street.
Parking: Park along the closed outlets to the west and east of N Green Hills Road & NW 79th Street. To get to this point, attendees must route to N Green Hills Road & NW Barry Road and then proceed south down N Green Hills Road until you reach NW 79th Street.
Agenda: Remarks will be delivered by 2nd District Councilmembers and Transportation Director Jason Waldron. A ribbon cutting ceremony will follow those remarks, and traffic control barriers will be lifted to allow cars to access the road.

- New pavement with curb and gutter
- New shared use path and sidewalks
- Intersection, drainage and landscaping improvements
- Improved horizontal and vertical alignment
- Retaining walls
- Turn lanes
- New water main
