Brenton Siverly Director of Finance
Proven budget leader to guide financial strategy and strengthen fiscal stewardship

City Manager Mario Vasquez has appointed Brenton Siverly as Director of Finance, placing him at the helm of the City’s financial operations and long-term fiscal strategy.
Since joining Kansas City in 2025, Brenton has played a key role in leading the development of the Fiscal Year 2027 budget, which reduced the City’s projected operating deficit through disciplined financial management and careful budgeting. His leadership in that process reflects a strong commitment to responsible stewardship and aligning resources with the City’s priorities.
As Director of Finance, Brenton will oversee the City’s budget, revenue, treasury, and financial management functions—ensuring the City remains focused on transparency, accountability, and delivering core services effectively.
Brenton brings extensive experience in public finance at the local, state, and institutional levels. Prior to joining Kansas City, he served as Director of Finance for the Schools of Nursing and Health Professions at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He also held key government roles, including Assistant Budget Director for the State of Missouri, where he helped oversee a $35 billion budget, and Deputy Budget Director for the City of Chicago.
Brenton holds both a Bachelor of Science and an MBA from Missouri State University.
