City offices closed July 3 but trash will be collected as usual
No-tag trash week for KCMO residents July 6-10
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: June 29, 2020
While City Hall, 311 and other city offices are closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of the July 4 holiday, our Solid Waste Services Division will be busy collecting trash and recycling as normal. Bulk item pick-ups already scheduled for July 3 will also be collected.
However, our leaf and brush drop-off sites are closed on July 4. Our three recycling sites and the Environmental Campus at 4707 Deramus are open Saturday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 4 tire drop-off hours at the Deramus site are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Our no-tag week is July 6-10, allowing Kansas City, Missouri, residents to dispose of more trash responsibly and economically. During this week, residents can set out up to 12 bags of trash - weighing less than 40 pounds each - curbside for free, without buying tags for extra trash bags. However, hazardous waste, bulky items (unless you have a previously scheduled pick-up) or leaf and brush will not be accepted.
