Kerrie Tyndall serves as the Assistant City Manager for Economic Development and the Director of the Office of Economic Development for the City of Kansas City, Missouri. Kerrie is an experienced leader with over twenty years of expertise in city management, including fifteen years in economic development, community development and business development.
Kerrie has extensive experience in developing economic development policy and utilizing a wide variety of incentive tools including tax abatements, tax increment financing, tax credit programs, and other economic development financing programs. She assisted with development of the AdvanceKC Strategic Plan, served as a member of the City’s Danial Rose Fellowship Team in 2012, and has provided guidance on projects such as Paseo Gateway Choice Neighborhood, Soccer Village at Swope Park, the redevelopment of Kemper Arena, the Urban Youth Baseball Academy at 18th and Vine, and the revitalization of the historic Lyric building into a new Downtown YMCA. Kerrie also serves as a representative of the City on the TIF Commission and the Heart of the City TIF Advisory Committee.
Kerrie earned her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, completed the Economic Development Institute program at the University of Oklahoma, and is currently pursuing her Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) certification from the National Development Council.
