The Climate Protection Steering Committee (CPSC) was established to guide the process of developing and implementing a Climate Protection Plan for Kansas City. It is comprised of not more than eleven members, balanced among stakeholder interests, and appointed by the Mayor.
The CPSC meets on as needed basis and is now tasked with guiding the Climate Protection Plan update.

There are 11 members of the CPSC, each of whom is appointed by the Mayor for a 3-year term, however, members will continue to serve until replaced.
