You must recertify through your home state, also known as the Jurisdiction of Original Certification (JOC) where you were originally certified before interstate certifications can be re-confirmed. If unsure of what to do, reach out to the JOC in question or CREODBE@kcmo.org. 

Once reevaluated by your JOC, the interstate process is the same as before. Be advised, if your JOC upholds your certification, that does not have any bearing on whether the other state has completed their reevaluation program. You may have to wait for their program to be reevaluated longer.

Once your personal narrative and personal net worth statement are approved, you will need to request interstate certification again. You can find the rules for the Interstate Certification process here. 

Yes – if you are certified as a DBE with us, you can request an interstate certification if you plan to use that certification outside of the state of Missouri. The Missouri UCP recognizes each other's certifications; therefore you will not need additional certification if you are a Missouri-based business working in the state of Missouri.

The DBE program is established by the federal government, and they set the parameters – as a member of the UCP (Unified Certification Program) we manage it locally. We certify businesses as DBE and ACDBE firms based on federal regulation 49 CFR parts 23 & 26. While as a UCP, we certify DBE firms for our local contracts that receive federal dollars, the U.S. Department of Transportation's Office of Civil Rights is responsible for processing all appeals of denial of DBE or ACDBE certification or removal of certification by a DOT recipient.
