Community Engagement & Investment

Violence prevention strategies are most effective in communities where resident engagement is high and where there's ongoing collaboration among residents, businesses, and other local stakeholders.

Community-based investments are also important to reduce violence and promote safety and well-being for residents.

That's why the Health Department's funding designated for Violence Prevention includes neighborhood-level strategies, youth development strategies, community restoration and healing, oversight and evaluation.
