The REACH Program
Designed to help residents struggling with substance abuse, mental health issues, or extreme poverty, the REACH program offers people who have committed minor, non-violent offenses a path to get help instead of going to jail. The REACH program connects our neighborhoods with the care they need to build a better life, creating a safer community for everyone.
Who Does REACH Help?
Currently, the REACH program is available for people in the Prospect Avenue area from 27th to 45th street.
Why REACH?
Arrest simply isn’t the best answer for many minor, non-violent offenses. By providing care instead of arrest, the REACH program gives folks the resources they need to make better choices, and allows law enforcement to focus on more serious crimes.
When Should You Call REACH?
Please call us if you or someone you see is 18 or older, at risk of arrest for a minor offense, and is struggling with the following:
- Extreme poverty
- Mental health challenges
- Houselessness
- Substance use
Contact us at 816-513-6010 or reach@kcmo.org to get help.
