The Renew KC Program

The RENEW KC program meets survivors of opioid overdose where they are, offering compassionate support and a connection to recovery resources. By listening to their experiences, this program also helps to prevent overdoses from happening to others, making our community safer for everyone.

What We Do:

The RENEW KC program includes Peer Support Specialists and Overdose Investigators who provide the following services:

  • Community Education: RENEW KC hosts informational sessions and trainings about substance abuse, harm reduction, and treatment options.
  • Post-Overdose Interviews: RENEW KC meets with survivors to better understand how to prevent overdoses in Kansas City.
  • Providing Life-Saving Tools: RENEW KC gives out harm reduction resources such as naloxone (the opioid overdose reversal drug) and fentanyl testing strips to anyone in the community.

Supporting Recovery: RENEW KC connects survivors with Peer Support Specialists who can offer confidential support and help folks access recovery resources.
