To make an appointment, call the Kansas City, Mo., Health Department at 816-513-6108. While walk-ins are welcome during clinic hours, they are not guaranteed. Please remember to bring your child's immunization records to the appointment.

The Health Department will close at 1 PM every 4th Thursday for staff development.

In the health department clinic:

• Children under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by parent/legal guardian.
• Larger families may need to break-up visits into separate days.
• If a child is brought to the vaccination clinic by someone other than their parent or guardian (or comes alone), they need to have a permission acknowledgement form completed and signed by their parent or guardian before they can be vaccinated.
• Bring a copy of the child’s previous shot record.
• The person accompanying the child must have a picture ID
• Please cancel your appointment if you have a fever, new onset of cough.

How Much Do Vaccinations Cost?

For Kansas City, Missouri Residents: Vaccinations (immunizations) are free for children with no health insurance, who are under-insured or eligible for Medicaid.

Fees for children if you do not live in Kansas City, Missouri proper:

• $15 fee for the first child.
• $5 fee for each additional child within the same family.

Please Note: There is a fee of $5.00 to obtain shot records.

What Vaccinations Do We Have?

The clinic provides the following childhood vaccinations required in the state of Missouri prior to the first day of school:

• Diptheria (DTaP)
• Hepatitis A
• Hepatitis B
• Hib (for influenza type b)
• Polio (IPV)
• Measles – Mumps – Rubella (MMR)
• Meningitis
• PCV13 (Pneumococcal)
• Rotavirus (RV)
• Tetanus
• Varicella (chickenpox)
• HPV (human papillomavirus)

Pfizer COVID Vaccine for children 6 months and older is now available.

While not mandatory for school enrollment, the clinic does provide yearly flu shots (Influenza vaccine).

Cost:

• Free for those eligible
• For those with private insurance and proper proof of coverage, the health department will bill the insurance company
• Or $37 (cash or credit card)

Please Note:

• During the back-to-school rush, the immunization clinic may reach full capacity early and residents may be advised to schedule an appointment with their physician so children will not be held out of school until vaccines are current.
• Please note: For exemption cards, residents need to make an appointment on a Thursday. Each child receiving a card must first be registered.
