Public Works provides essential services for a high quality of life in Kansas City. Kansas City identifies potential connector streets in a "Major Street Plan" that is updated every few years
The Kansas City Public Works Department’s standard specifications and design criteria consist of the Kansas City Metro Chapter, American Public Works Association, Standard Specifications and Design Criteria as revised, adopted and provided by the Director of Public Works.
Kansas City has an extensive network of bike routes. These route connections can take cyclists all across the city, including near World Cup festivities. There is dedicated bike infrastructure up to about a mile from Kansas City Stadium (GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium):
- From the end of the Blue River Trail, cyclists will be able to access a shuttle bus that will take them the rest of the way to the stadium.
- Cyclists taking the Rock Island Trail will find parking at the trailhead at the stadium.
- Bike racks have been installed at the Blue River Trailhead, which will be monitored starting 2 hours before matches start and 2 hours after matches end.
