Staff members are monitoring forecasts and will activate the Snow Command Center as needed.

Clear Your Sidewalks (It's the Law)

Park Off-Street

You can help snow crews work faster and clear more of your street by following these tips:

Keep snow routes clear. During snow emergencies, all cars must be removed from snow routes within 2 hours.
Park off-street whenever possible. Parked cars slow down plows and prevent us from clearing the curb.
Park close to the curb. If you must park on the street, get as close to the edge as you can to leave room for the plow. Park on the North or West sides of the street.

Avoid Parking on Emergency Routes

Drivers are instructed not to park on emergency routes.

These routes are marked with signage.

Vehicles parked on the following emergency routes may be ticketed or towed during snow storms:

Clear Your Driveway

Snowplows will always leave a pile of snow (called a “windrow”) at the end of your driveway. You are responsible for clearing it.

To make this pile smaller, shovel snow to the right side of your driveway as you face the street. This gives the plow a place to push snow before it reaches your cleared area.

Don’t push or shovel snow back into the street - this creates new hazards for drivers.

Before snow arrives, remove things like basketball goals, trash cans, and other obstacles from the curb so plows can get through safely.
