The Supportive Housing Academy (the Academy) hosted a two-day event presented by the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) and the City of Kansas City, Missouri.
The Academy provided an overview on supportive housing, national best practices, and the definition of quality supportive housing.
The 2024 Institute addressed the lack of deeply affordable housing and services in Kansas City Metro area (Jackson, Clay, Platte, Cass and Lafayette Counties in MO, and Wyandotte, Johnson and Allen Counties in KS), experienced by youth, adults and families that are homeless or at risk, or are involved in the child welfare system, aging out of foster care, or exiting other institutions (jails, prisons, group homes). The Institute will help supportive housing partners learn how to navigate the complex process of developing housing with supportive services to prevent and end homelessness.
