Program Overview

This is a HUD funded grant program provided by the City of Kansas City, Missouri.
Income qualification at 80% or less of median income. View 2025 HUD Income Guidelines.
Applicants must own and reside in the property to be repaired.
Properties must be single family residence (no duplexes, townhomes or other multifamily properties allowed).
Applicants cannot own more than one residential property. Home not in Family Trust.
Applicants cannot have received home repair assistance from the City in the last five years.
Eligible applications may become ineligible if conditions of the home are determined to be beyond the scope of program guidelines.

Application Requirements

All applications must be submitted through the Neighborly Online Application System to be considered and will require applicants to upload required documents with their submission

Provide proof of ownership - (recorded warranty deed or quit-claim deed) may be obtained through the county courthouse. If deed lists 2nd owner who does not live and reside in the home, complete the "Permission to Work" Form
Provide proof of income– proof of all income sources for all household members aged 18 or older. For example, two months most recent pay stubs, award letters, social security benefits and pension benefits or complete the zero income declaration form.
Provide copy of the current water bill (within the last 30 days), also, all utilities must be active
Proof of Assets - Provide 2 months most recent checking and savings accounts statements.
