Home MenuResources and Support from Our Community to Help Residents Affected by the Federal Shutdown
Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has paused new funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Beginning November 1, 2025, some households may experience delayed or paused benefits.
Kansas City is working with regional partners to ensure residents continue to have access to food, childcare, housing, and emotional support throughout this period.
If you still have benefits remaining from October or earlier, your EBT card will continue to work until those funds are spent.
