When tires are illegally dumped along roadways, ditches and vacant lots, they not only make the city look dirty, but they can also lead to health risks.
Tires are not collected with residential trash. The city offers a waste tire drop-off program to help residents and neighborhoods properly dispose of waste tires. This program is available to all City of Kansas City, MO residents and keeps the city clean while building community pride.
A neighborhood group can drop off tires at no charge if an approved letter for the neighborhood organization is provided at the designated tire drop-off location. Please contact Arthur.Baker@kcmo.org if you have questions or concerns.
Residents of Kansas City, MO can drop off waste tires at the City’s Environmental Campus, 4707 Deramus, on the first Saturday of each month from March through November. Operating hours are 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
This service is for residents of Kansas City, MO, and is not intended for businesses.
You may bring rimmed or rimless tires to the drop-off site. Proof of residence must be provided. A fee of $1.50 (cash only) will be collected for each rimless automobile tire. Fees are higher for tires on rims, larger tires and for tires that are excessively muddy. All fees are to be paid in cash only.
